AI System Prompt Customization

1. Overview

The AI system prompt customization adds organization-specific context and instructions to Centrify 360 AI without replacing the standard system prompt.

This setting and its update action are available only when Configuration Mode is set to Advanced on the Centrify 360 Setup page.

2. Configure the prompt

  1. Open the Centrify 360 Setup page.

  2. Set Configuration Mode to Advanced.

  3. In the AI Customization section, enter the instructions in AI System Prompt Customization.

  4. Select Update AI Configuration from the action bar.

The action saves the current setup record and sends the full configuration, including the customized system prompt, to the orchestrator. A confirmation message appears after the update succeeds.

Updating the AI configuration does not redeploy ETL services or the Power BI semantic model.

3. Prompt-writing guidance

Use the customization to describe:

  • The role and responsibilities expected from the AI assistant.

  • Organization-specific business terminology and abbreviations.

  • Preferred response style, tone, units, date formats.

  • Rules for interpreting measures, dimensions, and business processes.

  • Constraints on responses, such as subjects the assistant should avoid or when it should ask for clarification.

Write clear, specific instructions and avoid requirements that conflict with one another. Do not include passwords, access tokens, customer personal information, or other secrets and sensitive data.

4. Event and measure context

In Advanced configuration mode, use AI Context on setup events and measures to provide concise business definitions for the AI assistant.

  • On an event, describe the business process and meaning of the resulting event data. Context belongs to the event, not to its individual source-table mappings.

  • On a measure, describe what the measure represents, how users should interpret it, and any important business qualifications.

Event and measure context is included when generating configuration or updating the AI model. It is also retained when configuration is exported and imported.

5. Removing a customization

Clear the AI System Prompt Customization field and select Update AI Configuration. The orchestrator receives an empty customization and returns the AI assistant to its standard prompt behavior.

6. Troubleshooting

If the update fails, verify that:

  • Orchestrator URL, Authentication Client ID, and Authentication Client Secret are configured correctly.

  • The Business Central extension is allowed to make HTTP requests.

  • Power BI Workspace Name identifies the workspace used by Centrify 360 AI.

Use Test Connection on the Centrify 360 Setup page to confirm that Business Central can authenticate with the orchestrator.
